Thank you for your interest in umpiring baseball games through Baseball365 Inc. There are certain policies and procedures we require all our umpires to abide by.
Umpires are required to work any game they self-assign themselves to, unless a replacement is found. Baseball365 Inc. will do everything it can to find a replacement should you post a game for replacement, but if we are unable to do so, you are required to work the game. You are ultimately the person responsible for finding a replacement if necessary. Those who repeatedly violate this policy will be removed from any future assignments with us.
Umpires should post a game for replacement as soon as they become aware they cannot work the game. The system does not allow games to be posted for replacement less than 36 hours prior to game time, so plan ahead.
Any replacement umpire that is secured must be registered and approved as an umpire with Baseball365 Inc and must be listed on the website as the umpire of record for the game they are the replacement for. It is not acceptable to find a replacement umpire and have them work the game for the original umpire with the original umpire’s name still listed as the umpire of record.
In the event of an emergency 36 hours or less in advance of your scheduled game time that will make it impossible for you to fulfill your assignment, you must notify Baseball365 Inc. via email at [email protected], with the reason for your absence. Any umpire with excessive emergency notices may have their future assignments with us removed.
Should some significant life issue require an umpire to no longer be able to fulfill any future assignments, they must notify Baseball365 Inc. ASAP, as to give us time to work on finding replacements for all future assignments. The umpire should post all the games in question for replacement as soon as they determine they will be unable to honor their commitment.
Should weather be an issue, for any MAJOR YBL game it is strongly suggested umpires reach out to the home team to confirm the game will be played as scheduled. Teams are required to notify umpires at least an hour in advance if a game has been postponed due to weather. If they fail to do so they are required to pay the effected umpires a $25 appearance fee. Should weather be an issue for any Wisconsin, Illinois, or Indiana Baseball Tournaments games please check the corresponding website for updates. Updates are posted as soon as possible.
Umpires are expected to be familiar with the NFHS rules and our specific exceptions and variances from the NFHS rules. A complete copy of the rules for the MAJOR YBL can be found under the RULES tab at www.majorybl.com. A complete copy of the rules for Wisconsin, Illinois or Indiana Baseball Tournaments can be found under RULES at www.wisconsinbaseballtournaments.com, www.illinoisbaseballtournaments.com, www.indianabaseballtournaments.com.
